| hat06-02-06, 01:42 AM | Quick question: Can someone with a Cloak of Etherealness and a +1 Ghost Touch dagger attack creatures on the material plane whilst they etheral due to the cloak? If not, is there any magic item or weapon ability combination that would allow someone to replicate such an action. Specifically, I am thinking of sneak attacks. In the above example, if the character with the cloak and dagger was a rogue with 2 attacks a round would they get 2 sneak attacks? (This question is only valid assuming of course they can attack creatures on the material plane.) |

| DocBeard06-02-06, 07:47 AM | No. As far as I'm aware, there is no way to attack someone on the material plane from the ethereal plane. If there is, it isn't a ghost touch weapon (which affects incorporeal foes, or can be handled by incorporeal creatures, not ethereal ones.) |

If there is, it isn't a ghost touch weapon (which affects incorporeal foes, or can be handled by incorporeal creatures, not ethereal ones.) Seconded. That said, one of the high-level Ninja powers is the ability to strike creatures on the Prime while you are on the Ethereal. |
| Father Dale06-02-06, 09:49 AM | Thirded. Ethereal does not equal incorporeal. Ghost touch items do not interact across planes. They simply allow for interaction with incorporeal creatures on the same plane. My understanding is that you can't even use force effects originating on the ethereal plane to affect the material plane. (Although of course you can use force from the material to affect the ethereal.) |

Note, the weapon itself is on the material plane so it is A) visible and B) Disarmable [and then useable against you] and finally C) incapable of traveling through walls. |
