| Maxxx01-30-07, 07:58 AM | In MM IV there is the clockwork steed, a construct usable as a horse. It has a number of modifications that can be used to upgrade it. Does someone has a few ideas for additional modifications and prices. What would you say should it cost to grant the steed fire resistance 5 or the Toughness feat or similar small bonuses, nothing big, but nice to have your horse customized. |
| tarkin01-30-07, 11:01 AM | It is a construct, so it is a creature. That means it can wear magic items. Like say a ring of fire resistance or say a Amulet of Health. If you want them to be non-removeable, I would let you permantly build them into the creature, as long as they took up the appropriate spot. |
| Maxxx01-30-07, 12:45 PM | But the point is that it is an essential part of the creature that it can be upgraded, there is a damage reduction upgrade giving the steed DR 5/magic or adamantine and it costs only 500gp, much less than a usual item. I think this is a good idea because we are just talking about a construct horse not a real golem created for fighting on his own. If you made the upgrade take the slots or costing as much as similar stuff for the characters it would be pointless. |
