Suppose you have a level 1 cleric. He's got a light crossbow in his hands because he's been firing it once a round for the last several rounds. His turn in the initiative order has come up again. Can he:

a) 5-foot step
b) cast cure light wounds
c) reload his light crossbow

He wants to do all three of these in one round. Seems to me that's a 5-foot-step, a standard action, and a move-equivelant action. But is there something that would prevent him from doing all three in one round?

That's totally legit. Be aware that both casting CLW and reloading the bow provoke an AoO, and that he needs a hand free to cast. Usually, this is done by holding the bow in the off hand, casting (and touching) with the primary hand, then drawing the bolt with the primary hand (free action) and loading with both hands (move action).
