And if so, can you move the full extent of each movement mode? or how do you determine the creature's maximum movement? For example, an ogre mage has Speed 40 ft. (8 squares), fly 40 ft. (good). Could it thus walk 40 feet, take off, fly 40 feet, land, and take a standard action? If you say it could only use one mode of movement per move action, is it not feasible for it to combine more than one mode into a single move action? And if you agree that it is feasible, then how would you determine its maximum movement when combining modes of movement? In the case of an ogre mage, it may be easy, since both modes have equal movement. But what about for a creature that has a land speed of 30 ft. and a fly speed of 60 ft.? |
| tarkin06-20-06, 05:19 PM | A single MEA could let him fly 40 or walk 40, not both. He could however walk 1/2 his walk speed, then fly 1/2 his fly speed in a single Move Equivelent Action. The creature with 30 walk, 60 fly could walk for a total of 15 ft that round and fly for a total of 30 ft that round (45 ft total), and still take a Standard Action. |
