Problem is the martial arts styles detailed in the Oriental Adventures setting are about as worthless as 3.0 Psionics. I am thinking of using the martial arts as shown in Unearthed Arcana, the styles monks use to select their bonus feats, and they get a small bonus for selecting it. I am also thinking of extending these styles to other classes, so that the characters other than monks can learn a style of martial arts. Does anyone think it would be unfair to allow the other characters to learn these styles? |

You do something to make it harder for non-monks to take it. I.E. Currently Monks get free feats, which they get even if they don't qualify for the pre-reqs. So maybe put in some pre-reqs for non-monks to take, |

After all, it's not like the feats themselves say they don't work if you're wearing armor, and a single +1 to something isn't that gamebreaking if it's allowed in armor. I may change my mind about it though, if I can get a good reason to deny it when in armor. |

They would have to pick up the requisite feats from their class bonus feats, or for other characters, their usual feat slots, but once they have the prerequisites, they could get the bonus. Depending upon what combat styles you are designing, some may have problems with armour, others won't. The styles presented in UA are probably designed with Monks in mind. You may have the 'tweak' them, or simply design others to fit in with other classes. |
