| Slad Chaos06-15-05, 07:56 AM | Complete Warrior p.59 Master thrower Two with One Blow : If a master thrower with this ability uses a thrown weapon to attack two opponents adjacent to each other, she may take a - 4 penalty on the attack roll an attempt to hit both opponents at once. The attack may hit either, both, or neither opponent depending on the roll and the Armor Class of each opponent. Damage for each opponent is resolved separately. If the attack roll results in the threat of a critical hit, roll to confirm each critical hit separately. Weak Spot : A master thrower can gain this ability only after reaching 5th level. When using a thrown weapon against a target of her size or larger, the character can make a ranged touch attack instead of a normal attack. If the attack hits, the master thrower does not apply her strength bonus to the damage. p.41 Hulking Hurler Area attack : The character makes an attack roll against a square the target creature occupies (AC 10) rather than the creature itself. Any creature in the square must succeed on a Reflex save (DC 10 + the hulking hurler's rangead attack bonus) or take full damage. This ability may only be used with a Huge or larger weapon. p.153 Wield Oversized Weapon [Epic] You can use larger than normal weapons with ease. Prerequisites : Str 25, Monkey Grip, base attack bonus + 21. Benefit : You can treat any weapon as if it were one size category smaller than normal and one category "lighter" for the purpose of determining the amount of effort it takes to wield. p.103 Monkey Grip [General] You are able to use a larger weapon than other people your size. Prerequisite : Base attack bonus + 1. Benefit : You can use melee weapons one size category larger than you are with a - 2 penalty on the attack roll, but the amount of effort it takes you to use the weapon does not change. You can wield a larger two-handed weapon in two hands. You cannot wield a larger weapon in your off-hand, and you cannot use this feat with a double weapon. Miniatures Handbook p.23 Massive Sweeping Boulder (Ex) : Starring at 8th level, a war hulk is able to throw his rock with such force that they affect four sqares in a line. Each successive square chosen must be farther away from the character.) Only the first creature can be subject to damage from a critical hit or a sneak attack. As with great swing, the war hulk must have line of effect from one square to the next. 1)Is it interesting to obtain Two with One Blow with Massive Sweeping Boulder ? Or not, because the two opponents adjacent to each other can be in the same square ? 2) Do the Snatch Arrow feat given by a class feature permit to obtain the Infinite Deflection feat (without Deflect Arrows feat) ? 3) Can the critical devastating feat with Weak Spot ? 4) Can the improvised weapon as weapon focus ? Is a rock an improvised weapon ? If I have the Weapon focus (improvised weapon), apply it for all the improvised weapons or only to one specific improvised weapon ? 5) If a character has the feat quick draw and hold a two-handed weapon, can he/she put his blade in the sheath, deflect arrows, and quick draw his blade ? Or if he holds a two handed weapon, can he hold with one hand, his end of the blade on the ground and deflect arrows ? 6) With Wield Oversized Weapon feat, can the character a Larger two-handed weapons in two hands without penalty ? Or can the character a Huge Two-handed weapons in two hands ? What is the effect of one category "lighter" ? 7) Is it more powerful the ranged attack touch of weak spot or area attack with Refex save ? Thanks for your future answer. |
| tarkin06-15-05, 09:18 AM | 1) If they did, they would over-lap, not stack. I.E. If there were 8 people lined up in two rows of four next to each other, you would only get the first two people and the next 3 behind your main target, not all 8. 2) No, you need the exact pre-req, not a related thing. This is because often times a game designers intentionally give weak things as pre-reqs to balance a more powerfull ability. 3) I think yes, the critical devasting does work with Weak Spot. 4) You have to take Weapon Focus on a specific weapon, and you have to be proficient with it. So no Weapon Focus (Improvised Weapon (Rock)). But you CAN take Weapon Proficiency (Rock), making it no longer an Improvised Weapon, and then take Weapon Focus (Rock). 5) QuickDraw does not allow you to sheathe a weapon quickly, so that answer is no. But you can shift your grip from two handed to one handed as a free action, then Deflect Arrows, then return to a two handed grip. 6a) A medium sized person with Wield over-sized weapon can use a Large Weapon with no penalty, but can not use a Huge weapon at all, even if he has Monkey Grip. 6b) There are two rules about larger weapons: I) You take a -2 penalty when wielding them. II) You treat them as being one size category heavier, and can not wield one that is heavier than two handed. Wield Oversize Weapon cancels both these rules, the "Lighter" part cancels the II rule, the thing about being one category smaller cancels the I rule. 7) The ranged touch attack of a fighter type is clearly stronger than Reflex save attacks, in part because of Evasion, and especially if the mage has not maximized his DC's. But for most Wizard types that have maximized his DC's, a Reflex save for Partial is better than their ranged touch attack. |
| Slad Chaos06-15-05, 09:29 AM | Thanks, Tarkin. 7) The DC is : 10 + the hulking hurler's ranged attack bonus (it's not a DC for a spell) What is the ranged attack bonus ? BAB or BAB + modifier ? |
| tarkin06-15-05, 12:28 PM | Your BAB is the same for everything. When they say ranged, you know it has to include modifiers, because that means it uses Dex, not strength. So it is BAB + modifiers. |
