| Salernodc03-01-07, 07:40 PM | The following is an item from one of the previews of the Magic Item Compendium. If the greater truedeath crystal allows a character to inflict critical hits on undead creatures, how would a weapon with this crystal stack with the devastating critical epic feat? If an undead monster fails its fortitude save vs. a devastating critical hit, is it instantly destroyed? How would this work against a lich and its phylactery? Thanks in advance for any insight. ________________________________________ ___________________ Truedeath Crystal Price (Item Level): 1,000 gp (4th) (least); 5,000 gp (9th) (lesser); 10,000 gp (12th) (greater) Body Slot: -- (weapon crystal) Caster Level: 5th Aura: Faint; (DC 17) evocation Activation: -- Weight: -- This amethyst is carved in the shape of a humanoid skull. Hence I believe that they would be immune to Devastating Critical even if you can crit them. Devastating Critical is also similar to death from massive damage to which undead are also immune to. |
