| AceDashDog05-02-05, 09:06 AM | Point of order question here - should a character with Improved Critical in Longsword who has a Keen weapon have a threat range of 15-20, 16-20 or 17-20? Thanks |
| Oso_Moore05-02-05, 09:38 AM | Regarding a Keen weapon the DMG says: "This benefit doesn’t stack with any other effect that expands the threat range of a weapon (such as the keen edge spell or the Improved Critical feat)." So you would still be 17-20. In 3.0 I had a Blade Dancer with Improved Crit, Keen, and a scimitar, as well as some epic goodness so I critted on a 10-20. It was a fun niche, but they've closed most of that hole. |
| Cog05-02-05, 09:55 AM | If you are playing 3.0, they stack and you'd have a threat range of 15-20. If you are playing 3.5, they don't stack, and you'd critical on 17-20 |
| wonlee7605-02-05, 09:56 AM | Presuming you're playing 3.0 rules, 15-20/x2 is the new crit for a person with Improved Crit (Longsword) and a Keen Longsword. In 3.5, your crit range will be 17-20/x2 |
