As an example...

My rogue fights with a dagger (as a side note, it is enchanted with the special ability "Returning"...not really that relevant, but worth mentioning). He also has a BAB of +6/+1. As a full attack action, can he make one melee attack, then make one ranged thrown attack at a different target all with the same dagger?

(I do realize that he will provoke AoO's if still in melee range)

As far as I can tell, this is legal within the RAW...but it is definately within the realm of possibilty that I over looked a rule or two.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Yes, you can perform different sorts of attacks with a full attack action. Quickdraw can be handy, here, as it would let you draw-and-throw a second dagger, if you wanted to throw twice.

Sweet!

Thanks for the quick, and to the point reply!

...no pun intended

For that matter, could you swing with your sword, then hurl a hatchet at someone else (with Quickdraw, perhaps, or if previously holding --NOT fighting with-- the hatchet in your off-hand)?

By all rights, yes, you should be able to do that, but there's a FAQ ruling that implies you /must/ take the TWF penalties if you decide to do it with your off-hand. That's only if using your off-hand comes into it. Suffice to say, if your DM uses that ruling, and you want the flexibility to use a weapon in either hand, you better take TWF, and you might as well take the extra attack you get from it, too.

Aside from that wierdness, in general, you can use each of your itterative attacks to make a completely different sort of attack, with whatever weapon you have available, as long as you have the Full Round action available to make the full attack in the first place.
