| Maxxx10-12-05, 10:33 AM | I have a question for fellow DMs concerning the price of a magic rod. One of my players wants to create a rod of undead mastery (Libris Mortis Page 78), but he wants it to also function as a warhammer +1, as many rods can also be used as weapons of similar types I would agree that this would be possible, especially because the description of the rod does not state that it is very fragile or anything, but I am not sure about the price. Would it be ok to just take the standard price for the rod (10.000) and just add the price for a warhammer +1? |

I don't know how the rod you mentioned works, but if it's effects do not modify a melee attack, it's cost should be that of the rod plus that of the +1 warhammer. And a hint: what about mithral to build the rod? -> it's hard to break, it fits for the use in battle and does not add too much to the price since it adds no special effects to weapons. In fact you could even ignore the additional cost of mithral for this magic rod. |

I think that only applies for slots. As in, you bump up the price when there are two or more abilities that take up the same slot [on the same item]. I think. |
