| Magitek05-28-06, 03:59 PM | interesting idea. first of all, you only need 1d8 for a random compass, like the splash weapon rules. secondly, a random compass in an organized dungeon wouldn't work too well becuase if they find their direction in 1 place, they can figure it out for the rest of the dungeon. Also it could mess up you map if the direction of north kept changing. The only good use would be if they got thrown around through a waterway and needed to find their orientation again or if they were in a barren landscape, because a survival check can probably be used to find north, if your dm lets you. |
