Concussive Damage Reach Weapon? [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-07-07, 12:28 AM There's the Goad from Frostburn, but the bludgeoning portion is subdual.

You could also use the Lucerne Hammer, from The A&E Guide, but it's listed as piercing, although it has a normal hammer-like side in addition to the picklike part.

Complete Warrior has the mancatcher.
Underdark has the pincher staff.

If you're just looking for damage, the lucerne hammer is your best bet.

The reach is not good, something like 50' at much but does nifty 2d6/x3 ^^

I think you're confusing reach with range.

04-07-07, 12:57 PM Ask your DM if you can have a bludgeoning version of one of the reach weapons from the PHB (the halberd probably makes most sense, since I'm not really sure how to picture a bludgeoning guisarme or ranseur). I'd let one of my players do it if they wanted one.

To make another correction in this thread without adding anything to the OPs question:
The Halberd (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/equipment/weapons.htm#halberd) is not a reach weapon, that is a common misconception though.

Crap. Talk about brain fart. I have a player who semi-regularly uses a halberd, and we know that it's not a reach weapon. Thanks for pointing that out, though, since it's a common enough misconception that mentioning it whenever it comes up is important.
