Ok I looked up the various sections in the DMG about armor bonuses stacking (or not), but I still can't make it out. Here is my question. We've got a spellcaster with a Dex of 14 for a +2 bonus. So far so good. She is wearing bracers of armor +4 so this would get her total AC to 16, but how does go into touch AC. For a touch AC armor should not be taken into acount, but in the bracers discription it says it creates a force field, and the Players Guide states under touch attack that you don't lose force effect armor bonuses. If I'm not mistaking, this would go to a flat-footed AC of 14 (losing only Dex bonus) and a touch AC 16. To complicate matters she also has cast an mage armor on herself. Armor bonuses normally don't stack, EXCEPT those from force-effects, like said spell. But the bracers are made with the same spell, does that mean they don't stack all of a sudden? Does her AC's become AC 20, touch 20, flat-footed 18? If so it would be one of the best touch AC's I've seen in my gaming years. Any thoughts and/or comments are welcome. Greetings, a Dutch DM.

the Players Guide states under touch attack that you don't lose force effect armor bonuses. That is not correct. You don't lose force effect armor for "incorporeal" touch attacks (but those are different from regular touch attacks).

Armor bonuses normally don't stack, EXCEPT those from force-effectsThat is also not correct. Armor bonuses do not stack even if they are from force-effects.

Ok thanks for pointing that out! Does this mean the casting of the mage armor is useless, and therfore the AC's should be: AC 16, touch 12 (16 for incorporeal touch attacks) and flat-footed 14?
