| Verasana_33105-29-07, 12:05 AM | First I have to apologize that I don't remember what book this came from. I had the information written in an old book from when I used to play D&D a while ago. It's a great axe called "The Widow Maker". It has a double edged blade and a wicked point at the top. The blades damage is 1d12 and the point is 1d8 damage. The big surprise is that it is not considered an exotic weapon. So my question is, should you have to have the feat "Two Weapon Fighting" to use both the blades and the point or just the ability to make two attacks? The charater looking to use it is a classic orc barbarian. |

Generally, a weapon with two damage types deals the same amount. Now, if the spike is on the same end as the axe blade, then TWF wouldn't work, as it's not a double weapon. If the spike is on the other end, then TWF would work. However, I would say that weapon is brokenly powerful, as all other double weapons tend to do 1d8/1d8 damage. From what you said in the post, if it's a martial weapon, it's probably not meant to be used as a double weapon. I guess it's simply a spear and great axe combined, to give you the versitility of using either weapon without having to switch. Incedentally, if you want to make text bold or underlined, these forums do that with square braces [] instead of angled braces <> ;) |
