Container carrying capacities? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-09-05, 02:25 AM I know I've seen it somewhere, and I hate to post, but /shrug, no search. What are the capacities of:

Backpacks
Sacks
Saddlebags
Etc.

My DM seems to think it's the weight of the item, but that doesn't make any sense. My Jansport weighs about two pounds, but I can load it up with 50 pounds of books easily. Is it actually given in any of the books?

Medium, regular backpack or sack holds 1 cubic foot or 60 lbs.

Medium regular saddlebag holds 5 cubic feet or 250 lbs.

It is some where in WoTC published materials, but also at:
