| Atirakis08-01-06, 03:26 PM | Shadow Steel - This metal seems to darken the area surrounding it Any metal item made from Shadow Steel casts shadows in the area it occupies. Armors made from it protect against force attacks and incorporeal strikes. Weapons can strike incorporeal creatures as if they hade the Ghost Touch property and Inflict 1 temporary negative level on a critical hit. |

| RavenDrake08-01-06, 06:01 PM | Here's a Quartet of Planar Metals that I use in my campaign. They all have special qualities on their own, and additional benefits when weilded by a creature with a corresponding Elemental Subtype. Titan's Bone: This material only appears as a result of Seismic upheaval on the Elemental plane of Earth bringing veins near the surface. The material is pale ivory, resembling bone, though a rainbow-hewed metalic sheen can be seen with a close inspection. Weapons made of Titan's Bone benefit from an effective increase in enhancement bonus of +1 when weilded against creatures with the Air Subtype. The benefit gives a munadne weapon a +1 enhancement bonus to hit and damage, or increases the enhancement bonus of a magical weapon by +1, however this increase does not stack with the bonus to enhancment bonus provided by the Bane weapon enhancement. Armours made of Titan's Bone grant Damage Reduction 1/- against the attacks of natural weapons of creatures with the Earth and Air subtype. Shields made of Titan's Bone graint a +1 resistance bonus to saving throws against spells with the Air and Earth descriptor. If weilded by a creature with the Earth subtype, all Titan's Bone items become largely invulnerable, and can't be sundered by physical blows(though magical attacks will effect them as normal). An earth subtype creature may Power Attack with any weapon made of Titan's Bone, even light weapons. And lastly, Armours and Shields made of Titan's Bone grant an Earth subtype creature Acid Resistance 2. Titan's Bone has Hardness 25 and 50hp per inch of thickness. Increase the HP of items made of Titan's bone by 2/3s. Costs: Weapon: +2000gp Ammunition: +40gp Armour: +5,000gp Shield: +2500gp Undine Silver: This silvery-blue metal is harvested through special sieves on the Elemental plane of water. It has an almost quicksilver like appearence when held underwater. Weapons made of Undine Silver benefit from an effective increase in enhancement bonus of +1 when weilded against creatures with the Fire Subtype. The benefit gives a munadne weapon a +1 enhancement bonus to hit and damage, or increases the enhancement bonus of a magical weapon by +1, however this increase does not stack with the bonus to enhancment bonus provided by the Bane weapon enhancement. Armours made of Undine Silver grant Damage Reduction 1/- against the attacks of natural weapons from creatures with the Water and Fire subtype. Shields made of Undine Silver graint a +1 resistance bonus to saving throws against spells with the Water and Fire descriptor. All undine silver items can be repaired easily if they are sundered. By placing the pieces of the weapon together, pouring at least a quart of clean water of them will cause the weapon to re-form. This is a Full Round action that provokes attacks of opporutnity. Undine Silver items cannot be sundered while underwater, they simply immediately reform. If weilded by a creature with the Water subtype, all Undine Silver items become more effective underwater. All weapons, regardles of damage types, can strike and attack with no penalties. Additionally the Armour Check Penalty of Undine Silver items does not apply to Swim Checks made by creatures with the Water Subtype. And lastly, Armours and Shields made of Undine Silver grant a Water subtype creature Cold Resistance 2. Undine Silver has the hardness and Hitpoints of Steel. Weapon: +2000gp Ammunition: +40gp Armour: +5,000gp Shield: +2500gp Sylph's Breath: Sylph's Breath is a pale coloured metal harvested from the dust-storms that blow through the elemental Plane of Air. It appears for all intents and purposes to be platinum, though with a pale underlayer of yellow-gold, it feels incredidiblly light. Weapons made of Sylph's Breath benefit from an effective increase in enhancement bonus of +1 when weilded against creatures with the Earth Subtype. The benefit gives a munadne weapon a +1 enhancement bonus to hit and damage, or increases the enhancement bonus of a magical weapon by +1, however this increase does not stack with the bonus to enhancment bonus provided by the Bane weapon enhancement. Armours made of Sylph's Breath grant Damage Reduction 1/- against the attacks of natural weapons from creatures with the Air and Earth subtype. Shields made of Sylph's Breath graint a +1 resistance bonus to saving throws against spells with the Air and Earth descriptor. Sylph's Breath items are very light, and they seem to move easily. While they do not reduce much of thier weilder's encumberance, you may increase the maximum dexterity bonus of any armour made of it by 1. Additionally, you may reduce the Armour Check Penalty of any armour made of Sylph's Breath by 2 points for the Jump, Climb, Tumble, and Balance skills. If weilded by a creature with the Air subtype, all Sylph's Breath items apply only 1/4 thier weight aginst encumberance for determining load for a flying creature. Additionally, flight speeds are not reduced by the encumberance of Sylph's Breath armour. Additionally, a creature with the Air Subtype may use Weapon Finesse to apply thier dexterity modifier to attack rolls, rather than thier strength modifier, for any weapon made of the material even if it is not a light weapon for them. And lastly, Armours and Shields made of Sylph's Breath grant an Air subtype creature Electricity Resistance 2. Sylph's Breath is ephemeral and light, but still sturdy. It has the hardness of steel, but only 20hp per inch of thickness. Reduct the HP of any item made of Sylph's Breath by 1/3. Weapon: +2000gp Ammunition: +40gp Armour: +5,500gp Shield: +3000gp Efreeti Brass Effreeti brass is harvested from molten pools deep in the realm of the efreeti on the elemental plane of fire. It appears, when worked, to be burnished brass with flecks of copper and other ruddy metals within. Weapons made of Efreeti Brass benefit from an effective increase in enhancement bonus of +1 when weilded against creatures with the Water or Cold Subtype. The benefit gives a munadne weapon a +1 enhancement bonus to hit and damage, or increases the enhancement bonus of a magical weapon by +1, however this increase does not stack with the bonus to enhancment bonus provided by the Bane weapon enhancement. Armours made of Efreeti Brass grant Damage Reduction 1/- against the attacks of natural weapons from creatures with the Fire, Water, and Cold subtype. Shields made of Efreeti Brass graint a +1 resistance bonus to saving throws against spells with the Fire, Water, and Cold descriptor. All Efreeti Brass items are immune to spells which deal Fire or Cold damage, including Heat/Chill Metal and any attack spell with the Fire or Cold descriptor. If weilded by a creature with the Fire subtype, all Efreeti Brass items provide an Constant, unchanging field of warmpth granting a +2 bonus to all saving throws against extreems of temperature from your environment. And lastly, Armours and Shields made of Efreeti Brass grant a Fire subtype creature Cold Resistance 2. Weapon: +2000gp Ammunition: +40gp Armour: +5,000gp Shield: +2500gp |
