10-23-07, 03:28 PM The thought in question is: How much does 1 cu.ft. of gold, platinum, silver, adamentine, mithril, etc. weight? The reason I'm asking is the creation spells allow you to create 1 cu. ft. of rare metals per caster lvl and I want to know the net value of what I can create.

If you have 1 cu.ft. of platinum per caster lvl for 20 min per caster lvl the only thing anyone will ever do with it is try to sell it or cash it in for a nice item. If you take the craft skill (minting) you can even turn it into coins.

All I can see is $$$ :D

Silver = about 625 lbs/cu foot
Gold = about 1200 lbs/cu foot
Plat = about 1340 lbs/cu foot

You should be able to work out the fictional metals from the DMG characteristics. Iron is close to steel, which is about 500 lbs/cu foot.

Thats crazy. :DOnly a crazy person would accept that much platinum without at least casting detect magic on it. Anyone with that much disposable wealth would likely be able to afford some safeguards, as well as a nasty vengence. Let us know how it turns out.
