Anyone know what I'm talking about here? There's always that chick in all the anime shows and stuff that fights with those razor wires that nobody can see untill they are in the "web" of wires, and if they move another inch, they'll get sliced to bits. Is there any info on these "weapons" anywhere that anyone knows about? I'd really like to incorporate them into an upcoming campaign that im going to be running.

One way you could duplicate that is have a custom spell (level 2, perhaps?) called Field of Razor Wires that makes a 30' radius of the razor wires come into being. Whenever someone moves through the area, they make a reflex save or take 1d6 damage, with the field lasting 1 round/level. Sounds pretty balanced for a level 2 spell...

Or just make it so that your NPC set up the wires beforehand, and the PCs must make a DC 15 ref save each round or take 1d6 damage.

You mean something like a monowire whip? Such a weapon would very likely be too powerful to ever work.

Oiy, I'm glad I never got into anime...

I think mod5000 has the right idea. Most of the "special moves" in anime are impossible to perform without the aid of magic. This could make a nice spell. Should your victims have to make a spot check as well? You know, to notice the wires before their first reflex saves? I'm bad at balancing.

Well, in all the shows, our heroes are always waltzing along in the forest and then happen upon mr evil asassin on the path ahead of them. He then reveals to them that they are in the midst of his deadly trap... They all look around and to their horror they are in the middle of a spiderweb of very sharp, very deadly, almost invisible wires. The bbeg then says that unless they do what he wants, he will constrict the wires and cut them all to ribbons, so it seems like there is some pre-set up work involved. I dunno...

Well, 1d6 damage/round WOULD often auto-kill most commoners in a round or two (4 HP). However, our PCs are heroic heroes who are most courageous, valorous and brave... etc etc etc. Just have it be prepared as I said before, with a DC 20 Spot check to notice it.
