Even though my character is now a wraith in our DnD game, my DM is still willing to let me play him, and advance in character levels. I remember who I was, keep the levels I have, change my ECL, and become evil. One problem that I'm encountering, however, is how to get corporeal equipment onto the character, or whether I'm going to be stuck equipmentless. DM has already stated that equipment on my body doesn't automatically transfer over, the way it does for a ghost, and that I have to come up with some other solution. My question then becomes, what method works? Here's a few thoughts, and opinions appreciated.

1. A party member has some gadget that lets him occasionally go etherial. If he is in the etherial, and gives an object to a ghost, that ghost can manifest and give the object to me. (interesting quest potential)
2. I could equip a +1 ghost touch spiked gauntlet, which would allow me to interact with corporeal objects. Libris Mortis states that the equipment in the possession of an incorporeal creature is also incorporeal. Perhaps if I pick something up, I can take it with me?
3. The ghostly grasp feat out of Libris Mortis allows me to interact with objects as well. If I were to gain this feat, would objects I grasp become incorporeal?
4. My character was the Cleric of the party. Which means, I now lack a holy symbol. The spell description of Clutch of Orcus says the smoking heart of the victim appears in your palm. If nothing else, I guess I can start an incorporeal heart collection.

Other ideas definitely appreciated.

1) Yes.

2) Sort of. One could claim that only the spike is ghost touched, the gauntlet itself is not a weapon, but is instead armor. Still at the very least you have a stick to manipulat things. But the object does not become incorporeal just becuase you pick it up.

3) No. See #2 above. Interacting does not make things incorporeal. To make something incorporeal, a spell or efect must state it makes them incorporeal.

4) You should be able to make a holy symbol. All you need to do is have it painted on armor, so you should be able to find some way to draw it.

I would suggest having your ghost touched spiked Gauntlet be painted with your holy symbol.

I still have the spawn ability, since the DM trusts my judgement on using it. We talked about me only being able to control spawn with hit dice totalling my own. I don't intend to create spawn until i find someone worthy.

If #1 sounds workable, I guess I'll be perusing tomes that discuss those damned souls cursed to wander the lands.

I could have sworn that Create Greater Undead allowed for the creation of ghosts. Was that just in 3.0? Is there another spell that allows their creation?
