Ghostly Visage from page. 221 of the Fiend Folio I am guessing something HUGE, but what would you guys say would be a fair price for these (considering most of them try and exert some form of will over you while you have them attached)? |

As for pricing, both of those things are symbiotes, intended for use by the DM as Monster only templates. As such, they are not priced. Also note, they have some disadvantages. The ghostly visage for example is affected by spells cast on you, and being undead it is harmed by healing spells. No more cure x spells. They basically are worth a full level, as they increase your CR by one or two. I personally would give them out in lieu of rewards, not something that can be purchased. Treat them as more similar to artifacts. Royalty, Pope's, Liches, Arch Mages, Demi-Gods, etc. have them and give them out if you please them. They are the only people that can breed/keep them, and can restrict the sale because unlike magic items they can not simply be made, they have to be bred. Like Nuclear weapons, they are so powerfull that if you can make them it immediately up's your game into the big boy's league. That means you either get slapped down hard by the experieced teams in that league or can hold your own and become Royalty/Pope/Lich/ArchMage/Demi-God/etc. |
