Bracer that gives +2 natural armor and one per day give Enlarge Person to the wearer (duration of enlarge person is one minute). I know a +2 natural armor would cost 8,000g. I'm not sure about the price of the spell. I think it would be 2(spell level x caster level x 2000g) divided by 5, which would be 800. Do you just add the two together, making the price 8800g? Or would it be more? I would assume it would be more but I don't know by how much. Thanks!! |

I would say about 11,000gp would be fine or even 10,000gp, just no lower than about 9,000. |

Do you just add the two together, making the price 8800g? 100 percent no chance it is using the formula, period. You will need to look at existing items. The only 3.5 ish item I know is King’s Knife (13,000 gp) if you extract the approx cost of the Enlarge Person is 5,140 gp for 2/day IF you have a SLA of Enlarge Person already. Granting the ability to someone that doesn't already have it should cost more. So, that being said, I think most people peg it between 8,000 and 15,000 gp or 1/day Enlarge Person (1 minute duration.) So your item is between 8,000+8,000*1.5 and 15,000+8,000*1.5: 20,000 to 27,000 gp |
| Kyaran07-16-07, 02:02 PM | There's a belt in the MIC that gives enlarge person 1/day for 10 minutes for 3,000 gp. At most levels, 1 minute vs. 10 minutes is irrelevant. Either way, one use is one combat. The cost is in uses per day, as 3 uses makes it almost the same as being permanently enlarged. I would personally set the price for multiple uses at 1,000 * (3 ^ uses). This matches the 3,000 price given, makes 2 uses cost 9,000, and 3 uses cost 27,000. I would be completely comfortable pricing this item with a +2 enhancement to natural armor and 1/day enlarge at 8,000 + 4,500 (3,000 * 1.5) = 12,500. Going up to 2/day would make the cost 9,000 + 12,000 (8,000 * 1.5) = 21,000. |
| tarkin07-16-07, 02:42 PM | Kyaran gave a good argument. Please keep in mind that. 1. The spell level x caster level pricing method is the acknowledged worst one. 2. The majority of abuses for it are of first level spells. (First level spells have to be worthwhile taking at first level so most of them have a straight out benefit instead of a levelled benefit, which would make the effect more reasonable for the price). |
| risner07-16-07, 05:41 PM | spell level x caster level pricing method is the acknowledged worst one. Not exactly worse, more like "last resort." In other words, when all else has failed and there is no other item like the new one or even an item that could be compared to the new one on a power level. As for the MIC item (p73 Belt of Growth), it is the only 3.5 item granting this effect, so it would seem they are lowering the value of this effect as compared to 3.0 versions and the only other 3.5 version. |
