Cost of a +2 Keen, Shocking Burst Rapier? [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-18-05, 09:31 PM When a weapon or suit of armor has a special ability with a market price of "+2 bonus" or something like that, those bonuses are treated as effective bonuses when determining the price. A +2 keen shocking burst rapier is effectively a +5 weapon and is priced accordingly.

Even if the individual abilities were priced according to their bonuses, a +2 enhancement bonus is 8,000, keen (+1) would be 2,000, and shocking burst (+2) would be 8,000, for a total of 18,320 gp. Idunno where you got 5,000 from.

This is all explained in the DMG at the begining of the magic weapons section.
