Master of Dragons 06-05-05, 05:24 PM	Hi everybody, I've got a question about cold iron weapons. The SRD says Weapons made of cold iron cost twice as much to make as their normal counterparts. Also, any magical enhancements cost an additional 2,000 gp.Does that mean that a +1 weapon costs an additional 2,000 gp, a +2 weapon an additional 4,000 gp and so on? Or does it mean that only things like keen, flaming, etc cost an additional 2,000 gp each? Thanks in advance Master of Dragons
Leobardis 06-05-05, 05:32 PM	It means that every time you enchant or upgrade an existing enchantment you pay an extra 2,000gp. So if you buy the +2 longsword given as an example from the DMG, it costs 10,330 just as its laid out. If you then want to make it a +3 weapon, you have to pay the difference in cost to upgrade (like you normally do) but you also have to pay an extra 2,000. Done this way, your new +3 longsword costs you 22,330 whereas if you just bought a +3 from the start it would only cost you 20,330. So, every time you change the enhancement you have to pay an extra 2,000. This is all laid out better in the FAQ, I'd suggest you go look there.
