Costs of Alternate Mounts? [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-03-07, 03:16 PM Can anyone direct me to the costs of purchasing an alternalte mount? The Arms & Equipment Guide lists a price for a "egg or young of the creature" and the trainer's charge to train or rear the creature, but not a price to simply buy an adult ridable version of the animal.

Specifically, I want to buy a Dire Boar for my half-orc. I don't have the handle animal ranks to be able to effectively raise and train it myself, I just want to buy one to ride. Any help would be appreciated.

01-03-07, 05:13 PM Price should be probably be around 4,000 to 5,000 gp for a war trained Dire Boar.

(They are about the same power as a Giant Eagle, Giant Owl or Pegassus mount, which cost 5k,5k and 4k for fully trained versions)
