| Enderlaand02-01-07, 10:15 AM | I'm sorry, but this is really hard to understand. What are you asking about? |
| RavenDrake02-01-07, 10:46 AM | He's asking (as far as I can tell) if a player has to claim the cover bonus/penalty, or it's automatically applied to thier rolls. Cover is determined relative to the attacker and the target, and it is always applied. It takes no special action to get cover bonuses. |
| tarkin02-01-07, 10:48 AM | I agree, your statement is not understandable. I think you are asking if players have to do something to benefit from cover. The answer to that is no, taking cover is not an action, once you have moved to the correct space. |
| Merestil Haye02-01-07, 11:48 AM | I don't think he's talking about cover. He's referring to the penalty for firing into melee. That also applies every time two creatures are in melee. |
| Tharr02-01-07, 11:58 PM | There used be some old rule you could refuse any cover bonus. Reading there was the rule if you miss by cover bonus you hit cover object. Main example you hit basically the peasant in the front instead of the target. Plus if you ignored the minus four you would hit you friends. |
| RobbyPants02-02-07, 10:13 AM | I think that's an old 2E rule (or perhaps a house-rule relating to that)... The -4 you take when shooting into a melee is similar to this. It can be overcome with the Precise Shot feat. |
