Something that could be "shaped" or "crafted" into an actual tradable good. Obviously the item would not have the chakra bind qualities so the functionality would be "minimal" however some would still be rather useful. Does anyone see any holes in this? Like all my stupid ideas it's only a small idea and I haven't checked all the soulmelds to check this out but I figured I'd throw it out there if it wasn't already. I suppose it would require some special materials to stabilize the soul energy and maybe some sort of periodic treatment to stop it from disipating. |

"Hey.. use this", they wouldn't be able to tap into the majority of it's potential. (For lack of binding, and even more important -- lack of essentia to invest.) Rather than making soulmelds permanent -- I think it would be more worthwhile, on expanding existing magic items with the ability to enhance them with essentia. The books shows how you can bind existing magic items, just expand on that to allow you to invest essentia as well. Aside from that -- the only house rule we've determined is to a few ways to gain bonus essentia. Pricing an item according to the 'Amulet of Mighty Fists' progression for bonus essentia seems fair. (6k for +1, 150k for +5, and the ability to use 'wishes' for an 'inherent' bonus to essentia.) |

I realize the melds would be "nerfed" to say the least but a few of them would make rather nice little trinkets. So it was just an idea for having the base stats which may or may not be "useful". Is this idea just another waste? Personally I saw quite a few items that would effectively sell for a considerable amount based on "base line" functionailty, and as such have a rather unique "enchantment". |
