| testament02-08-06, 12:44 AM | Okay, I have tried to figure out the formula for creating magical items, and I just can't figure it out. I am probably missing something, or just reading it wrong or something. Can anyone either provide a site or link that details the formula in a clear way. Or can someone please explain it to me. Thanks. |

Base price is spell level * caster level * (50 for potions / 25 for scrolls / 750 for wands) gp + expensive components. Cost to create is base price / 2 gp + base price / 25 XP + expensive components. Weapons and armour also have specific mix-and-match methods, as long as you stick to a listed set of abilities. Anything else simply has guidelines, depending on what you are trying to make. The guidelines can be found on DMG table 7-32 and 7-33, DMG pg 282, and other notes scattered throughout the section. |

With the scribe scroll and craft wandrous item feats an 11th level artificer could create a reusable ( X / per day) scroll or an unlimited use scroll. Then use metamagic spell completion on these items. This is great if you use it with persistent spell for int+3 times per day. Just create 1/day items for each of the spells you want persistent. Now, how in the world is this possible? What would be the formula for creating this? Thanks. |
