Is creating a golem (any type) a craft skill, item creation feat, or something other. I have been looking through many source books and can't find any information on golem creation. In game i found a book with information on creating mud, pape,r and iron golems just can't find anything out of game to apply rules to it.

Craft Construct is at the end of the Monster Manual (under monster feats), and the requirements for crafting each golem are listed in the monster entry for the creature.

See also the Effigy Master PrC from the Complete Arcane, which makes a specific kind of Construct (without the feat and much sooner) which is a template you apply to existing creature stats to make android-versions. It is an interesting alternative, and if you decide to go all-out with the real Craft Construct feat, you can still make Effigy creatures.

Also note that many golems can be made with specific manuals that anyone can use (which are Wonderous Items). The DMG has manuals for the core golems, and your DM can use them to price manuals for other ones out there. It's more expensive than making the golems yourself (which in general already cost an arm and a leg), but you save yourself a commitment in feats, if you aren't obsessed with item creation.
