Hey guys, I've been working on an Assassin for a fast appoaching campaign, and decided I would like him to be a master "Trapsmith", however looking at the rules for crafting Traps on pages 67-76 of the DMG it doesn't allow for Crafting Traps with a CR higher than 10.

Now, as most PCs know full well, Traps with CR of 10 or less are next to useless (low Disable DCs mean taking no damage, High Disable DCs mean taking next to no damage).

So I was wondering, are there any rules for Crafting Traps with CRs higher than 10?

Thanks in Advance!

There is a reason it is so hard to find traps higher than CR 10. At that level so many traps would lead to one of two things: Dead PC(s) or lots of XP for a single die roll. Effectively the trap is either discovered and disabled using relatively few resources or it kills and maims with little additional recourse.

Now if you're still set on super deadly traps there may be places to find them. I don't recall any in my books but perhaps the Complete Scoundrel or some third party book has additional information.
