Cramped Spaces [Archive] - Wizards Community

I would like some help understanding the rules on cramped spaces (Underdark page 110 - 112).

The first row of the table on page 112 says you can use any ranged weapon and that you can't use a two-handed weapon.

My question is simple, can you use a bow or a crossbow? Or are you stuck with throwing knives?

12-22-07, 02:58 PM the sytem is simple enough. just read the paragraphs accompaning it. if it's not specific enough, just look at weapon height/mass vs. area

most caves will not allow for a longbow to be effectively wielded, and even a shortbow can be problematic in many areas. X-bow usually fits the bill.
this is why Drow do not get all bow proficiencies their surface cousins get as they are often useless in the Underdark.
