| Faerir04-27-05, 08:18 AM | ok, I have come up with some of the craziest weapons that you could ever imagine... two swords coming from on hilt... 'broad-short' sword... what is the craziest weapon you have thought up? :D |
| Insane Pixie04-27-05, 09:59 AM | Ummm...the craziest thing I did was two swords from one hilt... :weep: Oh, wait, no...I did the repeating rifle. Don't ask about that tragedy. |
| Veomyr04-27-05, 10:04 AM | sword-chuks, yo. |
| reese04-27-05, 10:27 AM | the elephant series elephant whip 1d6 lethal damage elephant crossbow 4d4 130ft elephant spear 1d12 |
| Aerandir04-27-05, 12:20 PM | Try the Ivy Blade from Soul Caliber. I'm still working out how much it would cost to make one of those things, and right now it is way TOO freakin' high. So either I'm really inept at figuring out the price of crafting magical weapons (most likely), or it isn't worth the price of admission. |

I have stats for it if you need them. |
| tarkin04-27-05, 12:57 PM | I have to say that alchemist fire and acid are the craziest weapons I ever heard of. Let me get this straight. You want me to carry around a flask designed so that simply throwing it hard will break it open and explode for 1d6 of damage? And you don't provide me immunity to fire/acid first? And you don't provide any safe way to carry it? And you expect me to carry these things in my pouch/leather back pack while engaged in melee combat? While climbing mountains/trees/riding on horses/swimming/etc.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: |
| mvincent04-27-05, 01:02 PM | Ivy's blade? Whip-sword sword-whip? I have stats for it if you need them.I just used the spiked chain stats. |
| mvincent04-27-05, 01:04 PM | sword-chuks, yo.light-saber chucks. or even better: dire light-saber monowire chucks |
| Insane Pixie04-27-05, 01:20 PM | Try the Ivy Blade from Soul Caliber. I'm still working out how much it would cost to make one of those things, and right now it is way TOO freakin' high. Whip dagger A character who takes an Exotic Weapon Proficiency in the whip is also proficient in the whip dagger. (You do not need to take a separate feat to use the whip dagger if you already have a feat for the whip.) The whip dagger is heavier than a standard whip and deals normal damage due to the barbs that run along its length and the dagger-like tip (which inflicts deep wounds when accelerated to strike by a proficient user). Unlike standard whips, armor bonuses and natural armor bonuses do not hinder its ability to deal damage. Although you keep it in hand, treat it as a ranged weapon with a maximum range of 15 feet and no range penalties. Because the whip dagger can wrap around an enemy's leg or other limb, you can make trip attacks with it. If you are tripped during your own trip attempt, you can drop the whip dagger to avoid being tripped. You get a +2 bonus on your opposed attack roll when attempting to disarm an opponent (including the roll to keep from being disarmed yourself if you fail to disarm your opponent). 25 gp, 1d6, 19-20/x2, 15 ft., 3 lb., Slashing |
| JadeSpider964304-27-05, 04:25 PM | All time favorite weapon: Gnomes (1d6 20/x3 range: Str Bonus x 10ft max, Special: %95-100 deal 1d6 fire damage to all squares adjacent to target square when thrown) Second-favorite weapon: Halflings (same as gnomes but no special) |
| Borris04-27-05, 06:30 PM | Gun-chucks are obviously the best weapon out there. |
| High Octane04-27-05, 10:19 PM | sword-chuks, yo. Word. |
| Raymond_Luxury_Yacht04-27-05, 10:53 PM | A while back someone came up with a weapon even worse than sword-chucks. Specifically, Chainsaw-chucks. |
| John Q. Mayhem04-27-05, 10:58 PM | Scorpion claws from Sandstorm. Meh. Twice. |
| DuskyFruit04-28-05, 04:11 AM | I once created a crossbow bolt with cure potions as bolt tips, I was very good at hitting my targets and could fire cure potions into my allies' wounds when they got hurt, really crazy weapon! |
| Vahenir04-28-05, 05:52 AM | Well once.... In a playful little game... Martha Stewart fell through a portal into the world of the PCs. I cut off her head and used it as if it were a Medusa head - turning anyone who looked upon it into a toaster cozie. |
| Relanir04-28-05, 05:57 AM | Spiked chainchucks would be fun.....WAIT! BOOMERANGCHUCKS AND DOUBLE SCIMITAR CHUCKS! |
| Da Dinictus04-28-05, 06:02 AM | I have to say that alchemist fire and acid are the craziest weapons I ever heard of. Let me get this straight. | Valcien04-28-05, 10:48 AM | Gotta go with the spring on this one. Quarterstaff stats except you can use a move action to bend it then let it go for more damage. WHAP |
| TheBard04-28-05, 11:13 AM | It's a 2nd edition item, but anyway: Whirling Dancing Handkerchief of Holding of First-Strike Whenever you or your enemies have to sneeze, the hankie is ready. |
| Faerir04-28-05, 11:33 AM | sword-chuks, yo. sigh... sword chucks, so many time they have been attempted in our game... (50% fail rate... 1-10 hit self for 4d20... ouch). |
| Faerir04-28-05, 11:34 AM | All time favorite weapon: Gnomes (1d6 20/x3 range: Str Bonus x 10ft max, Special: %95-100 deal 1d6 fire damage to all squares adjacent to target square when thrown) Second-favorite weapon: Halflings (same as gnomes but no special) HEY! halfling special, (fighter/ranger) two weapon proficiency hit with battle, then hand axe |
| Rulebook04-28-05, 11:53 AM | i dont usually use strange weapons (i think for a while a barbarian i had carried around the arm of something with a good armor bonus, so he could bash things with it) but a friend of mine is famous for his Darkwood-with-Adamantine-Bracings TABLE. he build a masterwork table and fough with it. it was one of the most useful things out there though, being 6' long, we just placed it over pressure plates and avoided traps we couldnt disarm, you could brace it up for cover, pin opponents with it and hold doors closed easily. it did funny damage (which escapes me what we used) but the man carried a bigass table through dungeons. |
| simen_8804-30-05, 07:18 PM | Gyrspike. I mean, it either stabs you in the arm or flails your sword. If you're lucky, that is. |
| Cleric of Bast04-30-05, 09:08 PM | How About Dire FullBladeChucks? Dear god , help us all! |
| Cleric of Bast04-30-05, 09:10 PM | :D Fighing unarmed After you set yourself Ablaze hey cant pass up +1d6 fire damage per hit! |
| CryoSilver04-30-05, 09:27 PM | Squirrel Cannon! |
| DarkDragonlord05-01-05, 03:35 PM | the antimatter steam rifle mwah hahahahahaha :D |
| Insane Pixie05-01-05, 03:49 PM | Have you all forgotten Grenade-chucks? |
| Iron_Valkyrie05-01-05, 04:11 PM | In an Eberron campaign, the PCs managed to steal a tactical nuclear weapon (it used a Sphere of Annihilation in place of uranium/plutonium) from an experimental laboratory. Everything was fine until the party rogue, overcome with curiosity, decided to make a Use Magic Device and activate the item blindly. He did successfully activate the weapon, much to the dissapointment of the rest of the party. |
| feartheinvinceblehamster05-01-05, 04:13 PM | spiked chain |
| simen_8805-01-05, 06:05 PM | He did successfully activate the weapon, much to the dissapointment of the rest of the party. :heehee I have seen arrows used as thrown weapons. And three 20s in a row. At the same time. The thing is, the player who did it was a psion, and he used some psionic power (telekinesis hand, I think) to launch the arrows until he ran out of points. I'm not sure which was the crazier weapon. |
| ReverendCow05-01-05, 07:26 PM | Not so much of a weapon as a useful item: A couple years ago, a guy in my campaign made some leather bracer covers with little straps on it so that you could strap wands to them. Basically any time you wanted to use a wand, all you had to do was place your hand on the appropriate wand and activate as normal. It got rid of having to fumble with wands during combat. Of course it really sucked for him when he got his arm chopped off, cutting all five wands in the cover in half. Thankfully for him, the DM decided not to rule that having the wands cut in half would release some of their power as an explosion. |
| Vaalingrade Ashland05-01-05, 07:49 PM | A minotaur's horns -- which I cut off him while in combat with him and proceeded to use them to stab him. He was UP-set. |
| rbingham200005-01-05, 07:52 PM | A minotaur's horns -- which I cut off him while in combat with him and proceeded to use them to stab him. He was UP-set. Wasn't that how Theseus took out the original Minotaur? That's a double dose of humiliation right there. |
| Quirriff05-02-05, 06:55 AM | I was gonna mention swordchucks but somebody already mentioned it, the inventor also invented staff-chucks (two magic staffs on a chain), which is stupid because magic is about skill and control not swinging spells around like swords, but the end affect is a rain of chaotic destructive magics. |
| Da Dinictus05-02-05, 07:33 AM | Wasn't that how Theseus took out the original Minotaur? That's a double dose of humiliation right there. No, he had his own dagger. Or he used sharp bones from the skeletons of the minotaur's previous meals, I don't quite remember which. |
| howlingwolf05-02-05, 09:42 AM | A brilliant-energy weapon that could switch between various types of sword, stave or polearm. Looks plenty innocent too. Just a steel tube. :D 'You can't get past my spear with that sword! HAH!' '*Switch to longspear*' '*GURGLE*' Giant tinopener. Bastard-Sword handled daggers for when you need -both- hands to plunge between those shoulderblades. Touch-delivered fireballs. |
| maestro_takatak05-02-05, 07:22 PM | How many nuns could a nunchuck chuck if a nunchuck could chuck nuns? |
| reaperofnazgul05-02-05, 08:14 PM | How many nuns could a nunchuck chuck if a nunchuck could chuck nuns? anyways, does armor count? my craziest armor was made from the carapace of the tarrasque...Hey, I gotta get treasure from everything on that same note, the craziest weapon i ever had was the rust whip, my PC got ticked because the rust monster had no treasure and he just leveled up, so he decided to 1. Take exotic weapon prof(whip) as his feat for that level and 2. cut off the rust monster's tentacle, dip it in magic preservatives, and start ticking off people. "What? what was magic chainmail?" "the dust lying at my feet!!!" *CRACK* "what was that?" that was the sound of your +2 sword breaking." "@##%$#@*#!%^&&()$@#!!!!!" |
| Aeolus9105-02-05, 09:00 PM | An old character of mine used a giant metal spork that he called the SporkBlade. It had a sharpened edge that dealt damage as a bastard sword, the concave spoon end damaged as a greatclub, and the prongs damaged as a trident. He ended up enchanting it into a +4 Flaming Vorpal Spork. Every single BBEG ended up saying something like, "Is that a giant :censored:in' SPORK?!" right before it got its head lopped off. |
| Ged Coldplain06-15-05, 10:02 AM | A player in one game tried to make a character dual-wield mercurial greatswords with monkey grip… (this was 3.0) And I got a armour made out of a hollowed-out bladeling(outsider)… |
| dragonseth06-15-05, 10:17 AM | It's truly amazing what the human mind can conceive when it's been horribly twisted into the mind of a gamer. |
| BeyondFated06-15-05, 10:40 AM | Have you all forgotten Grenade-chucks? Dude! That would be, like, explosive bolos! I am so getting those for my monk! :D |
| Sephyrill06-15-05, 10:50 AM | well what about a Headspike or Headblade instead of a Headband? THAT would look crazy |
| Shaudes2906-15-05, 11:11 PM | The mighty Battle YO-YO... Stringg with nasty bladed yoyo on end Spiked chain stats? War chines Yo-Yo 2-hamder Sheet of mettal tightly wraped around a stick. Top end is razor sharp. SIdes spiked. can be used as a bashing weapon, or a reach weapon. 5' 1d8 20x2, 10' 1d4 19-20 x2 toys as weapons |
| Sssargoth06-16-05, 12:46 AM | Sadly, Ive seen a spiked cup be used by a half-orc fighter/barbarian. He r**ed things to death.... literally... :twitch: :twitch: My crazy weapons are These (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=447748) |
| Journeyman Samwise06-16-05, 01:16 AM | Werebear. One of the other PCs was a Half-Dragon, who picked up and SWUNG my Werebear at a squad of angry-looking Drureguar. They panicked and ran. |
| Flay Crimsonwind06-16-05, 02:04 AM | Bastard-sword-chucks, long-sword-chucks, fullblade-chucks, great-sword-chucks, I've done 'em all!!! (And my characters [well, most of them  ] lived to tell about it) :dancin: :evillaugh |
| JadeSpider964306-16-05, 04:36 AM | Vaporal Keen Bladed (Xen'drik) Boomerang :angelhide |
| BunnyMaster06-16-05, 05:59 AM | Mine was a vorpal serrated butterfly net that on a critical hit the net got caught on the enemies head and all you had to do is pull back hard enough |
| Mike W06-16-05, 06:04 AM | One of my favourite random crazy weapons is the lightsabre that, instead of two blades out of a single hilt, is two hilts with a blade between them... I've never really been sure exactly how that was supposed to work. A friend of mine swears they're in one of the old WEG supplements. I had a friend whose character took enough levels in Drunken Master to be able to use improvised weapons without the nonproficiency penalty. So what did he do? He started hoarding improvised weapons. He went to great pains to collect and store stuff like a ladder, a rope, a table, a chair, a mug, et cetera, in a big portable hole. Any time he needed a weapon, he'd just reach in and grab whichever random "improvised" weapon best suited his needs at the time. I think that the craziest weapon I have ever used would be an magic (Artifact-level) sentient flying ship. I had a character flying the ship, and a DMPC playing a pipe organ that granted a haste effect... Me: "So, how fast are we going, would you say?" DM: "Oh... based on your level, the haste... wow, pretty fast, actually. Faster than Emmanuel (a dragon we were fighting), for sure." Me: "And that dragon is pretty big, so it probably can't, say, dodge quickly from side to side..." DM: "No, it can't, as you can see quite plainly." Me: "Okay. I turn back to the rest of the crew and tell them to brace for impact. Then I push the ship up to full speed and ram the dragon." DM:  :mymy: :twitch: Dragon: :gah: Me: :evillaugh I rammed a(n evi) Great Wyrm Copper Dragon with a fying ship. Did a good deal of damage, too. Then sent the ship into a nosedive. Towards the ocean. With the Dragon still stuck to the front of it, bellowing in outrage. The best part? Another party member, a very utilitarian eldritch knight, threw up a wall of force about ten feet below the water. So we hit, went ten feet under, slammed into the wall of force, dragon still pinned to the bow, bounced off, and surfaced. I think that I did something like 30d6 damage total to it, although damage reduction took a little bit out of this. My DM ruled that the ship, while artifact-level powerful, did not overcome the damage reduction of the dragon, as it had not specifically been crafted to be a +1 ship. I felt that this was fair. |
| High King Tigernmas06-16-05, 07:33 AM | My friend has a cannon that fires copper coins on the populace of his town on the crack of dawn. They're all pinned to the walls now... |
| Kohdok06-16-05, 09:18 AM | Exotic Weapon Proficiency: People (Oh...this guy is so much fun... he's still alive...no NPC is safe...) Squirrel Cannon? Try Rabid Rabbit Homing-missile cannon! |
| Raana06-16-05, 09:38 AM | Okay, so I am the rogue in the group, check. Search skill, check. Disable device, umm, guess not. So i come to a chest. DM, "Its trapped. What do you want to do?" Me: "Well, Hmm.... I grabbed it by the handle on the side and continue" DM: :thinks: so we continue on in our perilous adventure DM: "You come to a room with a group of drow" roll initiatives Me: "alright, time to find out what trap we have" move to center of drow with just enough room not to take AoO and whap BOOOMMMMM DM:  :OMG! Reflex save with evasion for me and no more evil drow |
| nefestous06-16-05, 03:01 PM | back in 2nd edition, my party had to go up against some skeletons. Everyone was worrying about finding some bludgeon weapons. I handed my quater staff the nearest non thief party member and then picked up the rouge (he had started picking up coins in a room that was filled with bones) and tossed the rouge at the skeletons. Unfortunately (for the thief) I missed. A round later, I decided to use the larges bludgeon weapon in the room against one of the skeletons, the walls and floor of the room. Piledriving skeletons is fun. |
| Nuntius12806-16-05, 03:05 PM | Sword-gun. Partially inspired by the Gunblade from Final Fantasy 8, except that its a Gun. And it shoots swords. |
| The nameles one06-16-05, 03:10 PM | Squirrel Grenades - Beware the dangerous squirrel bone shrapnel! Squirrel Chucks, yo. Wand Chucks, yo. |
| Darkness is good06-16-05, 03:15 PM | Keen vorpal piano wire. great for sneak attacks. lets see, oh yes once I had a party full of sorcerers and wizards one of my wizards opened up a gate to the fire plane on a unsuspecting drow patrol, and the other 4 cast wall of force on each side of the patrol Burn Babey, BURN! My rection:  Thier reaction: :dancin::dancin::dancin::dancin::dancin: the drow's reaction: :headexplo: AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH MY EYES!!! THE GOGGLES DO NOTHING!!!!!* *not actually, it was more like *sizzle* |
| Sssargoth06-16-05, 06:35 PM | A mind flayer corpse, against other mind flayers. :D The infamus hammer gun that green_yawgimoth invented. Tipically used on bad DM's, but has seen use on other creatures.http://www.geocities.com/sphyre_san/smile/shoothammer.txt |
