03-03-05, 10:39 PM So how bout that fear? Will save which fighting classes have crap for and casters have great ones. I think that you should add you BAB to will saves vs fear because I find it more likely for a puny little wizard to run from a dragon then the buff half-ogre barbarian who throws caution to the wind. Anyone else think this is a good idea? I'm considering making it a house rule with my PnP group and proposing it to other DMs I play with on a less regular basis.

03-03-05, 11:08 PM Think about it this way, Wizards and the like are much more knowlegable about the world, and thus are less shocked when they see something that a dumb fighter might consider terrifying.

03-03-05, 11:16 PM Wizards also spend ages steeling their minds and bettering their mental prowess. They try to remain calm and in control so they can cast that spell which would take down the beast which causes all others to flee in terror. Your basic fighter trains to kill and master his own body. I think Fear Effects should be normal, since it's the primal terror overpowering your body and that requires presence of mind to control.

03-03-05, 11:35 PM well, in the case of dragons, its MAGICAL fear, which wizards (who know all things magical) are better prepared to face.

the Barbarian isnt afraid of mundane things, he smashes them. but magic is something entirely outside his ken, and butchers him.
