hi all i just have to know if you've ever done anything crazy in D&D like you've spent two months designing and building crazy contraptions and weapons within D&D

heres a few for you

Double Damage Sword

base hit: 6 2d6+4 crit = 20 on d20 --> x4

lets say i hit a 12 which is the lowest you can hit it will automatically do 24 because it is double damage, then if you get a crit it would be 48

heres another one

"The Wind Blower"
(dispite its name it isn't technically a weapon)
The wind blower is a ship one of my characters designed, the internal frame is wood the controls are wooded and it uses primative hydrolic systems and switches and buttons and stuff like that, it has 4 layers or runes which is actully a MIX-OF-MAGIC

MIX-OF-MAGIC:
cast mage armor onto a stone or a rune
then cast another spell (can't remember the name right now)
which makeks it last permently
then cast universal marker (or something like that) which then carves itself onto the stone, this makes a rune of mage armor

each layer has +4 armor from the Magic
4+4+4+4 (AC:16)

but thats not all
AC: 16 + 1 (from the wood) total ac: 17

but then it has metal covering it which is another +3 to the ac

so the total AC is 20, also when you get in your Dex Mod is added to the armor so that could be at most AC: 25, the engines and weapons are rune activated systems if you would like me to tell you how they work feel free and i'll post them.

I must admit that I'm slightly confused by your wording, so I might not understand you correctly.

First off, a weapon that automatically deals double damage with every hit is just plain broken, even more so if it isn't a magical item (which you don't make clear if it is). A weapon that deals +x damage (like this sword deals +4 damage) without an enhancement bonus is similarly broken. As is, this weapon is just too powerful.

Also, what does the 6 mean in the line "base hit: 6 2d6+4"?

If you really want to have an item like this, you would have to make it a magical enhancement worth a +5 bonus, and even then this might be too powerful. An automatic double damage is very, very powerful, especially since your strength bonus, feats, enhancements would also be doubled.

Armour class bonuses of the same type do not stack, so the AC for the ship would only be 14 (10 base armour class, +4 from mage armour). Also, where are you getting the +1 bonus from wood and +3 bonus from the metal? Unless they have been specifically crafted into a shield or armour of some sort, these materials do not provide a bonus to armour class. Also, a character's Dexterity modifier would not affect a vehicle either way.

Oh, and the spell you're thining of is called permanency.
