I made this thread for anyone who wants to make thier own armor design. I really want to be able to use some armor that isn't from the PHB. I want to see your designs. I hope they are great armor cause I wanna use them! I have a hunch that there is going to be some great armor.

Gothic Full Plate
This suit of armor is larger and heavier than normal gothic full plate, and protects the user better, at a cost of less mobility
Armor bonus: +10
Max Dex: +0
Armor Check Penalty: -8
Arcane Spell Failure: 55%
Speed: 20ft²
Weight: 55lbs
Cost: 2150GP

The suit includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and a thick layer of padding that is worn underneath the armor. Each suit of full plate must be individually fitted to its owner by a master armorsmith, although a captured suit can be resized to fit a new owner at a cost of 300 to 1200 (3d4×100) gold pieces.

² When running in heavy armor, you move only triple your speed, not quadruple.

Assassination-Proof Shirt
This seemingly ordinary leather and silk vest is actually designed to protect it's wearer from the unwanted attentions of assassins and rogues. It's inner linning is made of Titanscloth(see below) and it has adamantine plates that cover the wearer's heart, spine, thier sides underneath their ribcage, and a series of small plates woven into the area around the stomach, and into the tall collar that rises from the shirt's top to just below the chin.

While wearing this special vest, you have a 50% chance to ignore any sneak attack damage that would be applied to your character from a piercing or slashing weapon. Additionally, you have a 50% chance to turn any normally fatal(decapitating) blow from a vorpal weapon into a regular critical hit. Even if this does block the attack the weapon also deals damage to the collar as normal(Hardness 20, 40hp). If the collar is destroyed, then it cannot protect the wearer against further attacks.

You can wear an assassination proof shirt under regular armour, however it's Armour bonus does not stack with the armour bonus applied by the outer armour. It's maximum dex bonus, Arcane Spell Failure Penalty, and armour check penalty, however, do. Wearing any two armours who weigh a total of 25lbs or more count as wearing Medium armour, or wearing armour of a class equal to the outer armour, whichever is heavier.

Because of the armour's complex design and special materials, enchanted versions of an Assassination-proof Shirt cost twice as much. Enhancment effects that affect Critcal hits or Sneak Attack Damage(like Fortification) overlap, and do not stack with, the shirt's special abilities. The shirt counts as a masterwork item for the purposes of enchanting.

Dwarven Portable Battlement
This appears, at first glance, to be a steel inlayed towershield, though it has several visible hinges and chains. In combat it functions as a tower shield, but it has an additional use.

By releasing several latches on the sheild's back, a pair of steel suppor feet extend from the bottom. Planting them in the ground, steel plates can swing out from the back and lock into place. The whole shield is made of two plates of steel-banded wood and flips up from the front. When fully extended(a process that takes a full round action to accomplish and provokes attacks of opportunity), the shield has folded out into a 5ft wide, 6ft tall standing wall with an arrowslit down the center.

This wall can provide cover or improved cover for anyone hiding behind it, or cover for anyone attempting to use the arrow slit to attack with a ranged weapon. Unlike using a normal Tower shield for cover, because you can distance yourself from the shield spellcaster's cannot target you, however the sheild provides no cover from area effect spells that engulf the entire square the wall is in. The wall has hardness 10, and 75hp.

Dwarven Portable Palisade
This appears, at first glance, to be a large wooden Tower shield with spikes along the top edge. In combat, it functions as a tower shield, but it has an additional use.

By releaseing a series of latches on the sheild's back, the entire array can be extended and planted into the ground with a pair of steel support spikes(which are stored on the back with a small block to hammer them into place with). This is a Full round action that provokes attacks of opportunity. When finished, the shield as expanded into a wooden palisade five feet wide and just over five feet tall.

This palisade provides the effect of Low cover for anyone who crouches behind it. Additionally, anyone who attempts to run, or ride, through a square with the palisade in it is halted and takes 2d6 points of piercing damage. Anyone attempt to make it past the palisade must either jump over it, otherwise they have to go around. The Palisade has Hardness 5 and 60hp.

Half Pauldron
This is a very unique armour. It appears, at first glance, to be just the gauntlet, vambrace, and shoulder-guard of a suit of Full Plate. In fact, this is very close to the truth. A Half Pauldron is custom fitted to each wearer, like full plate, and it straps in place over thier left(or otherwise non-dominant) arm. A very light suit of studded leather is then added over that, with heavy plates on the left side, and heavy tasset and greaves also on the left. This suit also usually includes a helm that is little more than a steel band across the forhead with a long plate that protects the left side. One fights, generally, with this armour in profile, pointing thier armoured side at the opponent. Thier primary hand is free to strike, and they can move more freely, if weighted down a bit on one side. Because of the unique design and heavier weight of the armour plates a character must take Exotic Armour Proficiency: Half Pauldron to effectively use a Half Pauldron unless they have Medium Armour Proficiency or better.

A character with the Dodge feat and Exotic Armour Proficiency: Half Pauldron who wears this, however, gains an additional bonus. A character who uses Dodge while in a Half pauldron may treat the Half Pauldron's Armour bonus as being 2 points higher against the target of thier Dodge bonus. Because a Half Pauldron is custom fitted, it must be resized for each new user. This generally costs between 25 and 100gp(1d4*25).

Maximillion
A Maximillion is a custom designed suit of armour much like Full Plate, but it's lighter and more mobile, and often called Horsemans Plate. Maximillion is a form of full plate, but is generally cut down. The metal plates are thinner at the edges, and along the hands and legs. Layers of studded leather cover the underarms and other joint areas, rather than total Coverage like Full Plate. Because it's custom fitted, however, it provides a higher degree of mobility. A Maximillion applies only half of it's armourcheck penalty to fast mount/dismout ride checks. Because a maximillion is custom fitted, it must be resized for each new user. This generally costs between 100 and 600gp(1d6x100).

Sheild Cubby, Small or Large
This is a modification that can be made to any shield to hold certain relatively small items. A small shield cubby can hold a light weapon. A Large shield cubby can hold one pack of ammunition(20 arrows, 10 crossbow bolts, etc) or up to a one handed weapon. Similar small items, such as potions, oils, or alchemical items can be held there instead (a small sheild cubby can hold two items, a large shield cubby can hold up to three) An item held in a shield cubby can be drawn as a free action in combat. A Small Sheild can hold only a Small Sheild Cubby. A Large shield can hold a large or Small shield Cubby. A tower sheild can hold a Large shield cubby, or up to two small shield cubbies. A buckler cannot have a shield cubby. Adding a shield cubby requires hollowing out some portion of the sheild, so reduce the HP of any shield with a Cubby by 5 for a small, or 10 for a large. Anything placed in the shield cubby increases the shields weight accordingly. Anything that increases the shields weight by 5 or more lbs adds an additional -1 to the sheild's armour check penalty.

Sniper's Shield, Heavy
This heavy steel shield has a surprise. With some modifications made to it's design, it has a lever action Light crossbow mounted underneath. The crossbow functions as a normal light crossbow, but apply the shield's armour check penalty to all attack rolls made with the crossbow. You must have one hand free to load the crossbow, but it can be fired with hand holding the shield thanks to a special trigger mechanism. If a Sniper's Shield is used in combat while loaded any attack roll that misses you, but is high enough to hit your touch AC means there is a 10% chance that the shock of the blow triggered the crossbow to fire. If it fires, roll a d4 to see where it was fired: 1. At You, 2. At the ground, 3. Roll Scatter(as Grenadelike weapon), 4. At your Attacker. Treat an attack roll made like this to be 1d20+enchanment bonus(if any) of crossbow and bolt. The crossbow portion is seperate from the Shield when it comes to enchantment, special materials, and masterwork qualities.

Titanscloth Adventure's Suit
This Tabard, vest, and cloak combination are made from titanscloth, an alchemically treated canvaslike material made from materials harvested from the mane of a certain powerful creature. Titanscloth is as light and flexible as supple leather, but nearly as hard as steel. This suit, made of this unique material, provides a degree of protection and mobility unmatched by most normal materials, but it comes at a price. Enchanting a Titanscloth Suit, both because of the materials special nature and because of it's piecemeal structure, costs twice as much as enchanting a suit of regular armour. A Titanscloth Suit counts as a masterwork item for the purposes of enchanting.

Quickrelease Sheild
At first glance this sheild appears to be normal, and in all ways functions as a normal shield. It can be readied or loosed as a regular shield of it's type and benefits from any and all special materials, enhancements, etc. The straps that hold the shield to the arm, however, are all attached to special central pinion. By pulling that pinnion, you can allow the sheild to fall away form your arm quickly. You can loose a Quickrelease shield in this maner as a swift action(the shield, however, is still in hand. You can either stow it as a move action, drop it as a free action, or perform another action with it). Once the pinion has been pulled, however, to ready the shield again you must reattach the straps and thread the pinnion thorugh again, a process which takes a full round action and provokes attacks of opportunity.
