hey, im creating a shield for an epic paladin of level 25......now i was wondering...the sames rules apply as it was a normal magic item?

only a +5 bonus and +10 total?..i remember reading somewhere that the bonuses were +10 and +15 total...was that true?

also i need to verify the bonuses for the following abilities

the shield has 2 modes defensive and offensive, switcheable 1 per round as a free action

in offense mode the spikes come out of the sun on the shield...those spikes are +5, holy , thundering and shocking = this adds a negative bonus since this is a part of the shield but you have to give up on other abilties to use it

in defense mode the weilder may activate at will the spell Daylight from the sun on the shield.

also in defense mode if the weilder is a paladin or a cleric of pelor he may use the following spells with a caster level of 20:

Endure elements 1/day requieres character level 1
Heat Metal 1/day requieres character level 3
Searing Ray 1/day requieres character level 5
Fire Shield 1/day requieres character level 7
Flame Strike 1/day requieres character level 9
Fire Seeds 1/day requieres character level 11
Sunbeam 1/day requieres character level 13
SunBurst 1/day requieres character level 15
Prismatic Sphere 1/day requieres character level 17

yeah you guessed it, those are the spells of the sun domain.

that would be about it

also, i need a name for the shield, something related to pelor...

thanx in advance.

I can't help with the pricing or creation of the item but how about:

1. The resplendent escutcheon of Pelor?

2. Aegis of the Sun?

3. The brilliant ward?

4. Pelor's radiant buffer?

All of the adjectives are synonyms of radiant and all of the nouns are synonyms of shield.
