Creating IronWood armor [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-28-06, 07:26 PM Ok im making a druid and i want to make him some good armor to use.

Now i was thinking that +1, wilded fullplate would do the job (im starting at lvl11).

But how do i go about making this armor? do i just use the 1650gp cost for full plate and then add the cost for +4ench(16000gp) tottaling 17650gp.

Or could i get this cheaper using Woodshape and then iron wood and then adding the wilded and +1? Would it be more expensive?

01-28-06, 08:17 PM Wilded does NOT remove the druid's prohibition on using metal armor, only allows the armor to be used while wild shaping. THerefore if you want full plate it HAS to be of an exotic material (dragonhide, ironwood, etc).

01-28-06, 10:33 PM Yes i know that wilded armor wont allow a druid to use metal armor, thats why im asking how to make ironwood.

But how much would Ironwood fullplate cost?
And can if i made my own what would i need to do etc ;)

Mmm just read the spell "metal to wood" now if i changed a wilded +1 set of platemail to wood then changed it to ironwood would it regain the 2ac it lost from being turned into wood in the first place?

01-29-06, 01:46 AM Make the full plate out of Bronzewood (+9,000 gp, Arms & Equipment guide), then enchant it. Remember the armor has to be masterwork, so add that into the cost.

Finally, I don't think druids start with Heavy Armor proficiency so you will either need to multiclass or pick up the feat.
