| Zuckerart09-21-05, 10:46 AM | There are some items in the SRD related to feats. Incense of Meditation (Maximize), and the Golem Manuals (Craft Construct) are single shot items which I am conveniently ignoring. Gloves of Arrow Snatching (Arrow Snatching) work twice per day for 4,000 gp. The Dark Blue Ioun Stone grants Alertness for 10,000 gp. The Sylvian Scimitar grants Cleave (only outdoors in temperate regions) and seems to cost +15,000 gp (guestimated). Pricing based on the above 3 examples could be something like 5,000 gp + 5,000 gp for each prerequisite feat (which isn't granted)*. But this should come with heavy DM scrutiny to keep any semblance of balance. Apperanlt the Arms and Equipment guide has some rules about item granting feats as well. One balancing factor is the fact that the most logical requirement for an item granting a feat is for the creator to have that feat. Very few wizards have Whirlwind Attack, and even fewer will have Greater Weapon Specialisation. * Pricing calculated as follows: Gloves: Snatch has 1 prerequisite feat (Deflect Arrows). 2 charges/day reduce price to 2/5th. So 2 * 5,000 * 2/5 = 4,000. Ioun: no prereq feats. Slotless item doubles price. so 5,000 * 2 = 10,000 Scimitar: +3 weapon, +1 for the +1d6 damage. +4 enchantment costs 4^2 * 2,000 = 32,000 gp. Minus MW and weapon this leaves 15,000 gp. Cleave has 1 prereq. The feat is also a secondary ability (lower cost * 1.5). 2 * 5,000 * 1.5 = 15,000. |

The problem is that feats are very variable in power and unlike spells/psionics, they are not easily ranked. Compare Combat Reflexes and Spell Focus (Divination). Neither have any pre-reqs, but Combat Reflexes is extremely powerfull (particularly if you have a High Dex), while Spell Focus (Divination) is practically worthless, except as a pre-req. If you want a feat turned into a magic item, tell us and we can price it. |

I don't think it should have to be the Wizard themselves who have to have the Feat. |

I was thinking of having a Wizard, with Craft Wonderous Item Feat/Craft Epic Wonderous Item, create gloves that would add a metamagic feat to spells cast by the wearer. Thanks in advance for any assitance. |
