Creating Magic Weapons [Archive] - Wizards Community

I craft a magic sword +1 for 1,000 gold (half book value.)

Later I make it +2. Is that 3,000 gold? (half book for +2 is 4,000 - 1,000 since it's already +1) or is it just plain old 4,000 gold?

11-03-06, 10:40 PM When using the Craft feat to improve an already magical weapon, the cost is half the differance of the enhancements.

IE.
it has a +1 enhancement - Cost 2000 gp (for a +1 weapin)
Adding a +1 enhancement - Cost 8000 gp (for a +2 weapon)

Differance 6000 gp

Cost to craft (6000/2) 3000 gp Plus (6000/25) 240 XP
