09-23-06, 10:53 PM Can you make scrolls with different caster levels? Say, a magic missle scroll from a 9th level caster?

If so, how do U figure the cost?

09-23-06, 11:55 PM Just make one?:P You are free to designate the caster lv of the spells you scribe, so long as you actually meet the requirements.:)

To make a scroll of caster lv9 magic missle, you need a wiz9. The cost remains the same - spell lv*caster lv*25, so the cost of said scroll would be 225gp.

09-24-06, 12:05 AM I was just reading the DMG and it says 12.5gp * spell lvl * caster lvl. Not 25gp.

Apparently you would add the supplie cost after the first equation, which in the case of a lvl 1 spell, is 12.5. This brings the cost to:

12.5 * 1 * 9 = 112.5 + 12.5(supplies) = 125

Sound right? I tested this with the other spells levels on scrolls allready listed and it worked out so I don't see how that could be wrong.

There is the Market Price (CL x SL x 25) and the Cost to Create (CL x SL x 12.5).

To create a scroll you pay the Cost to Create: 1/2 of Market Price and 1/25 of the market price in XP.

So, for your scroll of Magic Missile (CL9):

Market Price: 225gp (9 x 1 x 25)
Cost to Create (Materials): 112.5 (9 x 1 x 12.5 or 225 x .5)
Cost to Create (Experience): 9xp (225 x .04)
