Let's just say that some of the players are decidedly playing evil characters who have no reservations about enslaving sentient creatures. So when dividing loot, there is some head to head arguing that can happen over who owns what captured NPC/monster/whatever. Now while I can look at creatures that are meant to be tamed or ridden and uaually see what the approximate value is, where can I find information that helps me guage what a creature is worth so that all the players and/or characters don't hurt/maim/kill each other over nonappraisable "loot"? |

Make it similar to deciding who gets items that multiple players want, somewhere there is an example with two charaters wanting a +1 Shield, but I can't find it. Basicaly it involves replacing the real value of the item with the winning bid and dividing the treasure evenly with the new total. So if you have a group of four PCs who just got 10,000 gp in treasure and one captive, and the high bid for the captive is 2,000gp the total "treasure" becomes 12,000gp. Everyone get 3,000gp with the winning character's portion being 1,000gp and the NPC. |

Maybe they're LAWFUL evil, but obviously not Chaotic Evil... I think the auction method is the best if they really want to "share". But as for finding a "base price" on human slaves... Maybe use the chart in the DMG for the price of professions per day as a baseline... |
