| runesword198707-07-07, 11:28 AM | I've been told different things by different people about critical damage. I know that if the weapon is a x2 then the base damage is rolled twice but are the other damages (i.e. strength) multiplied as well? Thanks for the help. |
| lint trap07-07-07, 11:53 AM | A critical hit means that you roll your damage more than once, with all your usual bonuses, and add the rolls together. Exception: Extra damage over and above a weapon’s normal damage is not multiplied when you score a critical hit. So if you normally deal 2d6+7 damage with your greatsword, you'll deal 4d6+14 on a critical hit. If it's a flaming greatsword, you'd deal 4d6+14 +1d6 fire on a critical hit. |

| Vharuck07-07-07, 01:34 PM | A simple rule is that if the bonus is constant (such as Str always giving the same bonus) it's multiplied, but if it's variable (any bonuses to damage where you roll a die) it isn't. |
| Nom07-08-07, 08:38 AM | Let's be more precise. You roll total damage (with all bonuses) twice and sum the results. The explicit exception is bonus dice, which get rolled once and added on at the end. Thus if I crit with a +1 flaming greatsword which normally does 2d6+5 (Str 16, +1 magic) plus 1d6 fire, then a crit will deal (2d6+5) + (2d6+5) plus 1d6 fire. Which is the same as 4d6+10 plus 1d6 fire. |
