05-10-06, 03:43 PM A master thrower uses weak spot to attack a guy at his touch ac. The MT rolls a natural 20. Does the MT have to confirm against the guy's touch AC or his normal AC?

05-10-06, 04:15 PM I'm a fairly strict DM and I would make the MT roll against the same AC he hit in the first place. You use the same modifiers on the roll, why wouldn't you on the AC???

"To find out if it’s a critical hit, you immediately make a critical roll—another attack roll with all the same modifiers as the attack roll you just made."

This seems to imply that the confirmation here is also as per the weak spot description. It is somewhat similar to attacking against the opponent's flat-footed AC (i.e. the confirmation would also be against that same AC). Nowhere in the critical hit description does it imply that it has to be against the regular AC.

05-10-06, 04:24 PM weak spot is basically "if it's your size or bigger, you can make a ranged touch attack and no strength to damage if you hit" Says nothing about criticals.

05-10-06, 04:55 PM If an attack made with a +20 bonus for True Strike threats a critical, the confirmation roll also applies the True Strike modifier.

I would say that if the attack is made vs touch AC, then the critical confirmation roll is made vs touch AC.
