I need some clarification on how critical hits work. Does it multiply all bonuses even power attack. My fighter has a str of 24 and he is using a +3 great axe and he has weapon specialization. The book seems to say that when I crit everything is multiplied. ex. 3 d 12 for the weapon, 14 for the str bonus, and a 10 point power attack (20) so for a total of 102 even before I roll the dice. It seems a bit powerful, let me know how other people deal with this.

Yup, everything is multiplied, unless it's bonus dice to damage such as the flaming property or sneak attack.

so in your example, on a crit you would deal.

1d12 + 3 (wpn) + 2 (spc) + 10 (str) + 20 (p. atk) x 3
or
36 - 47 x 3
or
108 - 131 dmg.

although, at that level (10), the enemy is just as likely to roll a 1 against a save or die effect as you are to confirm a crit with a 10 point power attack.

if you had a flaming axe you'd do all that +1d6 :P ... yeah, what Dartanel said ... err wrote.

wow, why on earth would you gimp your character like that?

its 1d12+3+2+21 (hand and a half bonus, sheesh why does everybody forget that?)+20 X3

138-174 damage

Dartanel's numbers are correct.

And as he said, while your damage is through the roof, the penalty on your attack rolls from Power Attack is pretty damned steep - and remember that the penalty applies to rolls to confirm the crit as well.
