So you deal triple damage, I assume that mean triple your strength score as well as triple any other damage you get. So if you crit, do you then multiple this damage, or do you then make the total multipled equal to spirited charge plus the crit multiplier. Thanks |

Yes, bonuses are multiplied, but any bonus dice (sneak attack, flaming, etc.) are not. So if you crit, do you then multiple this damage, or do you then make the total multipled equal to spirited charge plus the crit multiplier. As mentioned, the rules (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/theBasics.htm#multiplying) say: "When two or more multipliers apply to any abstract value (such as a modifier or a die roll), however, combine them into a single multiple, with each extra multiple adding 1 less than its value to the first multiple. Thus, a double (×2) and a double (×2) applied to the same number results in a triple (×3, because 2 + 1 = 3)." |

He is wielding his lance two-handed (rather non-traditional, but apparently possible) and trades 5 points of attack bonus for damage. He also uses his Smite Evil class feature. On a confirmed critical, he would do: 5d8 (5 x weapon damage) + 25 (5 x Str bonus) + 15 (5 x enhancement bonus - the Bane quality makes the lance + 3 vs. the giant) + 50 (5 x extra damage from Power Attack) + 50 (5 x smite damage) + 2d6 (extra dice of damage from the Bane quality is not multiplied) + 2d6 (extra dice of damage from the Holy quality is not multiplied) = 5d8 + 140 + 4d6 Minimum Damage: 149 pts Average Damage: 176.5 pts Maximum Damage: 204 pts |
