| Querente11-20-06, 10:14 AM | I have been reading the ToB:Bo9S and also using it in a campaign (which is a bit anime-based, so it fits nicely). I have a question regarding criticals hits. For instance, if I use Stone-Dragon's Mountain strike (+2d6 damage, and ignore any DR/Hardness) and I score a critical hit, does the +2d6 damage get multiplied as well? The +2d6 is not elemental (which is not multiplied normally, unless it has burst), but physical (I presume), but it is also not an integer/fixed addition (like strength bonus to damage, which get multiplied). |

| Querente11-20-06, 10:38 AM | Ok, I was just asking, because a fixed value does get multiplied, like the Strike of Perfect Clarity which gives a +100 damage bonus. According to the rules, that does get multiplied. Perhaps we can house-rule a compromise...with a critical hit, +2d6 rolls automaticall for max damge (12). Atleast you get a small bonus from it then :) |

In this case, it looks like you were fortunate and someone was able to understand what you were talking about and gave you the answer. |

However, fixed additions such as Power Attack ARE. What happens when you have something that adds both? Example, Desert Wind maneuver Burning Blade adds 1d6 + Initiator Level to the weapon's damage. Clearly, the 1d6 is not doubled (or whatever) on a crit, but what about the IL? |

You'd have to have been under a rock (figuratively speaking) for quite a while on these boards not to know that ToB is referring to the Tome of Battle. |
| Esponer11-22-06, 02:50 PM | Additional damage from manoeuvres is never multiplied on a critical hit: neither fixed damage, nor dice. A critical hit on a strike of perfect clarity deals normal critical damage, plus 100 damage. I'd find the appropriate quote from the book (Tome of Battle), but I'm busy tonight. Either trust me or look it up yourself. |
