Cursed Belt of Lion's Strength. [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-15-07, 09:48 AM Ok, I was looking at some of the cursed items like the one in the thread title, and was wondering if anyone had an idea on how much the might cost if you could simply speak a command word and the effect would end, as well as the item coming off, returning the wearer to full power.

Main reason I am asking is my group is probably going to be playing a martial arts campaign soon, and I thought that the Belt of Lion's Strength would make good substitute ankle weights.

08-15-07, 07:27 PM I don't think magically weakening yourself builds muscle the same way actually strengthening your natural muscle mass works.

If you take muscle relaxants, you probably won't be able to lift very much, and if you can't put as much stress on the muscles they won't get much stronger.

But, it would be up to the DM how the interaction of magic weakening actually works. I would prefer to go for magically heavier items rather than weakening myself.

08-16-07, 09:24 AM I know exactly what you mean, I was prefering something to be heavier, but I saw this and thought I might be able to talk my DM into giving me about 5% more experience since I am both doing some good roleplaying with it, and because I am making the combats tougher on myself. Figured it might work for a bit of an ad hoc xp award.

I just work with what I've got, and this is about what I've got so far.
