| NeueRegel06-19-05, 11:12 AM | Heyas folks. Okies, here's today's deal: What do you do when a specific weapon already exists in the game, statted very specifically, but you run across a real life version that is different? Today: The Sai. It's an exotic weapon, d4/x2, 10', bludgeoning weapon. But what if I'm inspired by these (http://www.martialartsupply.com/Weapons/Sai/Sai_3000/sai3000.jpg) ? What if I wanted to stat them as d4/x2, 10', bludgeoning/or d4/x3, 10', piercing (punching dagger dmg), depending on the mode of use? (The way you can choose piercing or slashing with daggers)? This is academic, since I don't have an oppurtunity to start a new character right now, but, just thought I'd throw it out there... NeueRegel |

| Nom06-20-05, 03:34 AM | Heyas folks. Okies, here's today's deal: What do you do when a specific weapon already exists in the game, statted very specifically, but you run across a real life version that is different?Ask your DM if he'll allow a change. With the sai, it's hard to tell how much of their exotic rating is from being a special monk weapon and how much from granting a +4 (double normal) disarm bonus. I'd probably be OK with allowing the damage type to be "bludgeoning or piercing", but not the increased crit range. |
