| Kevtar01-25-06, 10:11 PM | Do PCs with daggers receive their STR modifier or their DEX modifier to hit? I thought for some reason that daggers get the DEX mod, but I can't find it in the PHB or SRD, which gets me thinking that I'm wrong. Can someone help me out? Thanks |

If thrown, as a ranged attack, however, the character would add his/her Dexterity bonus to the ATTACK roll and his/her Strength to the DAMAGE roll. Also, there is a feat called Weapon Finesse which enables the wielder of light weapons (along with a few other specified weapons) to use their Dexterity in place of their Strength for the ATTACK roll in melee. They would still use their Strength bonus for damage. This is generally a great feat for rogues and archer-types...ones with good Dex but not so good Str. |
