I hate to ask this question, but i cannot find an answer, so i must confront the forum mages.

How do you increase the damage dealt, beside from rolling dies
like a 1d6 attack to a 1d6+3 attack. Beside masterwork and magical weapons, what is the other ways of doing this???

Thanks in advance

It will depend on which class and which weapons are being used but the +3 is usually your strength modifier being added.
Strength Bonus: When you hit with a melee or thrown weapon, including a sling, add your strength modifier to the damage result(PHB p134).

Masterwork weapons don't add to the damage.

Besides magic and strength, there's Sneak Attack, Power Attack, Favored Enemy, Smite Evil, making a mounted chargei with a lance, and increasing your size. That's all the ways I can think of in the Player's Handbook. Just about every book published includes new ways to deal damage, especially Tome Of Battle and Complete Warrior.

Sneak Attack is a class feature of the Rogue. It adds several d6 of damage (roughly one d6 for every two rogue levels) to damage whenever the target loses it's dexterity, or if the target is flanked.

Favored Enemy is a class feature of the Ranger. It allows the Ranger to deal extra damage to one type of creature. The amount of extra damage depends on ranger level, and choices made by the ranger.

Smite Evil is a class feature of the Paladin. I'm not really sure how it works, but I think Charisma and level are involved.

Making a mounted charge with a lance is something anybody can do. Just grab a lance, climb on a horse (or dog, if you're small), and charge. Lances deal double damage when you make a mounted charge.

Power Attack is a feat that anybody with at least +1 BAB can take. When you use Power Attack, you subtract a number from your attack bonus and add it to the damage you deal. If you wield a two-handed weapon, you add double that number.

Check your Player's Handbook for details.

Wielding a medium or heavy weapon with both hands gets you 1.5x STR bonus.

Rage, Barbarian - raises STR, and thus your dmg bonus.
