Damage question from a mounted charge. [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-18-05, 01:55 PM In the PHB it says you deal double damage from a mounted charge. Now what damege gets doubled exactly. Is it just weapon damage, strength damage, is magic damage added in and what about power attack damage?
Or do you add all that up then double it?

12-18-05, 02:48 PM It's just like a critical hit.

Your weapon damage rolled twice, + strength twice, + any numeric damage (Power Attack, Smite, etc) twice.

Any extra dice, like from Sneak Attack, Flaming/etc enchantments, or Skirmish, are not multiplied.

Note that mounted charges are only double damage when weilding a lance.

ShinAkuma2 is correct but the spirited charge feat doubles melee attacks and triples lance attacks
